The student section cheers for their volleyball team.

In a packed gym with little room to move in the student section, much less the rest of the bleachers, Wilsonville took on La Salle in a very heated volleyball matchup. The two rivals were ranked 1 and 2 in the northwest Oregon conference coming into the game, with La Salle having the edge because of the game they won earlier in the year against Wilsonville.

In that prior matchup the Falcons beat the Wildcats in four sets in the brick over. Wilsonville wanted revenge when La Salle came to town last Wednesday. While Wilsonville took the first set 25-19 and looked to be rolling La Salle, got their stuff together over the next couple sets, beating the Wildcats by a combined score of 50 to 39 over those sets. With the Wildcat ladies on the ropes, they pummeled the Falcons in the fourth set 25-16 and forced the winner take all fifth set first to 15 points.

Wilsonville started the last set off as well as you could hope taking an 11-7 lead over the Falcons. However La Salle regained the edge they had in the second and third sets and tied it up at 11. In front of the massive student section that was decked out in all white, the Wilsonville girls rallied and finished off the Falcons 15-12. Being a part of one of the biggest student sections the girls volleyball team has ever had was a great feeling, especially when the Cats were able to pull off the win.
