Last week in Wilsonville Sports, many teams went at it across different sports. They all played hard and represented Wilsonville well! Here’s this weeks recap:

Boys Soccer is getting hot at the right time. They swept league opponents last week beating Putnam 6-0, and Parkrose 2-1. The Parkrose game was especially intriguing, not only because we announced that game, but because there were 11 yellow cards, 3 red cards, and a couple skirmishes. As the regular season comes to a close, the #3 ranked Wildcats look to ride their momentum into the playoffs. 

Girls Soccer, similarly to Boys Soccer, also played Putnam and Parkrose and also swept them 3-1 and 8-0 respectively. They are beating everyone and doing it in convincing fashion. As of now, they are outscoring opponents 54-7. The favorites in 5A for the state title, the number one Cats continue to roll through league play and open playoffs soon. 

The Volleyball team won 3 out of 4 of their games, taking down Hillsboro, Sheldon, and Sprague in the process while dropping one to the number 4 team in 6A, Central Catholic. Their winning run has been very impressive as they have been destroying league foes, while only dropping games to very good opponents. They move up to number 6 in 5A as they close regular season play. 

Football did not play due to Covid issues within St Helens’ program. While frustrating, they do get another W in the win column. Plus, they got to have a fun Friday at Big Al’s, bowling and eating lots of food. They prepare this week for Hillsboro, which is senior night and Pink-out. Maintaining their undefeated record, they continue to be favorites in the 5A playoffs. They continue to be ranked number one by OSAA.
