This last Tuesday our lady Wildcats held the opposition to 0, but failed to put up any goals of their own in this stalemate vs La Salle. Coming off a 1-0 Wildcat victory vs Putnam, the ladies came out with similar energy on both sides of the ball. Though the score may not reflect it, there was great energy on both sides and the girls showed a lot of fight. Both teams defense played with energy and determination, holding each other to zero goals throughout the entire match. Senior goalkeeper Sierra Bishop held it down between the posts for the cats. Although the offense had a tough time finding their spark against the Falcons, they sought their fire two days later playing at the Hillsboro Spartans.

On the Spartan’s turf, the Cats came out with fire for the first half. Their defense showed fight while their offense still struggled to find the back of the net. Going into halftime 0-0 the lady Cats needed to talk over their offensive strategies and find a way to get through the Spartan defense. If the Wildcats had any hope coming out of the locker room after half, it was quickly crushed by the Spartans strike force. The Spartans closed out the game with 2 goals in the second half. Looking forward, the Cats will be making the trip out to St. Helens next week to take on the Lions. In this match they look to finally find their groove on the offensive end and hopefully come home with a convincing win going into the final stretch of the season.

The Wildcats have their work cut out for them approaching the final stretch of their season. The remaining 6 games of their season hold some tough opposition such as Sandy and Crescent Valley. With another tie on their record the Wildcats will have their work cut out for them to turn their 2-3-2 record into a playoff push.  If the Wildcats want to have any chance at postseason play, key players such as junior striker Teagan Mcnamee must step up and score goals as she has been doing all season. The girls definitely have the weapons on both sides to win their remaining games, they just have to come together as a team and focus on their goals.
