This Tuesday the Wildcats lost 0-2 to a strong Falcons team as their record dips to a struggling 2-5. While the Cats had some great efforts on the defensive end, there wasn’t enough spark on offense to overcome the 2 goals scored by a powerful Falcon offense. An impressive first half free kick by junior, Tybalt Thornsberry gave the Falcons an early lead that they fought to hang onto for the remainder of the game. This loss takes the Cats record to a demeaning 2-5. Looking ahead to Thursday, the Wildcats have a chance to shock their league with an upset win against Hillsboro.

Coming off the 0-2 loss to the Falcons on Tuesday, the Cats looked to redeem themselves against a very strong 8-2 Hillsboro team. On a cold Thursday night at Randall Stadium, fans gathered to watch their Wilsonville Wildcats take on the Hillsboro Spartans. The Wildcats struggled to keep possession early and found they could not find a way through the Spartan defense. It did not take the Spartans strike force long to find the back of the net, scoring a first half goal that would put them up 1-0 going into halftime. Moving along to the second half, the Wildcats looked to even things up, but did not seem to have the firepower needed. Things looked grim for the Cats as they conceded another goal in the second half. Though time still remained on the clock a comeback did not look hopeful for the Wildcats.  A poor performance from the Cats puts their record to a poor 2-6.

The Wildcats are in a scramble to find their offense with only four remaining games in league. Though they have been off to a rough start, there is still hope for the Wildcats. With the tough of their schedule behind them, they have the star players and supporting cast to make a push for the playoffs if they can find their groove and put together some wins.  Four consecutive wins by the Wildcats could bring them to an even 6-6 record and possibly win them a playoff spot. A tough week for the Wildcat boys but they look to bounce back next Tuesday at home against St. Helens.
