Last week in Wilsonville Sports, many teams went at it across different sports. They all played hard and represented Wilsonville well! Here’s this weeks recap:

The boys basketball team had 3 games last week. The first was a neck and neck game against La Salle that ended in favor of the Falcons 53-51. It was the Cats first loss in many weeks but they would quickly bounce back against Putnam which they dominated 61-26. It was a defensive clinic for the Cats. They finished the week with a Saturday game on the road against Scappoose. The head coach for the Indians, Coach Humphreys, coaches football and baseball at WVHS. The Cats outscored the Indians 58-41.

The girls basketball team continued their winning ways with 2 wins. They had two tests against two very solid league opponents. They first played host to La Salle, who had been coming off of some Covid cancellations, but were still a team-to-beat. Coming down to free throws in the end, the Cats came out with the W 49-46. They then hit the road to take on the Kingsmen of Putnam. Putnam is a scrappy, sneaky good team so it was a good test. But in the end, the Cats prevailed 50-43.

The Wrestling team had a fairly light schedule as they only participated in the St Helens duel involving St Helens, The Dalles, and Nelson.
