Coming into tonight’s game on a torrid win streak (8 games) Wilsonville looked to put themselves amongst the elite 5A girls basketball teams heading into the month of February.

Instead Wilsonville struggled badly on the offensive side of the ball for all 4 quarters. Through the first quarter the game was tied at 8 and looked to be a dogfight between two heavyweights battling for positioning in their respective leagues. Then Wilsonville only scored 6 points in the second quarter and 7 in the third.

Jesuit’s leading scorer Avery Edwards dropped 20 points on Wilsonville in dominating fashion. Edwards especially took over in the third quarter finding her spots and hitting a flurry of threes and jumpers to put the game out of reach. Other leading scorers for Jesuit included Emma Sixta with 12 and Emma Hix with 11.

For Wilsonville Davis led in scoring with 15 and Borgen had a solid night with 8 but for the most part Wilsonville was sloppy with 19 turnovers, especially considering Jesuit only had 7 turnovers you can see what led to Wilsonville’s demise.

Next for Jesuit is a Thursday game against South Medford. Meanwhile for Wilsonville they will try to bounce back against Hillsboro.
