Last week in Wilsonville Sports, many teams went at it across different sports. They all played hard and represented Wilsonville well! Here’s this weeks recap:

The boys basketball squad had another very successful week, accumulating two more wins to continue to lead the NWOC. The first faced off against a very underrated Parkrose team. One thing the Cats haven’t been in a while was a neck and neck battle; because they have been blowing everyone out. But this was a fight. Coming down to the wire, the Cats ran away with it 59-47. They also played host to Milwaukie later in the week. This was a dominant performance as they won it 65-36. Playoffs are a few short games away and the number one seeded Cats are favorites to do some damage in the playoffs.

The girls basketball team is slashing their way through league play, winning two more games over league opponents. On Monday, they played host to Parkrose. They had high expectations coming into this game both offensively and defensively, and those expectations came to fruition. It was a very dominant performance on both ends as they won it 61-15. To cap off the successful week, they faced off against a very solid league opponent, Milwaukie. This was a good, old fashioned back and forth basketball game. But in the end, the Cats came out on top 47-44.

Wrestling continued their campaign this last week with a pretty typical schedule; a middle of the week duel followed by a weekend tournament. They opened the week on Wednesday against Parkrose and Putnam. Two very different teams in two different directions. Parkrose has been trying to find an identity and Putnam has been on the rise. Against Parkrose, the Cats dominated, taking the duel 60-9. But then they faced the Kingsmen of Putnam. It came down to the final match, but the Cats ultimately dropped it 39-38. To finish off the week, the Cats participated in the Sherwood Invitational.
