On Monday February 14th, Wilsonville Girls Basketball traveled to La Salle High School for a league rivalry game.

La Salle scored two quick buckets at the near beginning of the game. In response, Wilsonville began to find a groove and score some easy buckets. However, a couple of minutes into the second quarter, the Falcons began to pull ahead.

“Even though we lost, I feel like the overall energy as a team is what pushed us through. However, I feel like we were not in the right mindset and I feel like we were more prepared to play Putnam.” Said sophomore Lily Scanlan. Fellow Sophomore Zoey Davis shared some thoughts on this as well. “I feel like we did really good on pushing the ball up the court and making strong passes”

Wilsonville, while scoring often, was unable to mount a comeback. La Salle gained the lead and maintained it throughout the whole game.

With playoffs around the corner, stakes are arising for the Wildcats as they are dominating their league and look to make a run in the State Championship. “I’m pumped for the playoffs because I’m confident in my teammates and that we have what it takes to make it far. We really want to do this for the seniors and most of all Coach Duke.” said Scanlan. Similarly, Davis stated that she “is looking forward to the playoffs and the experience as a team!”
