Last week in Wilsonville Sports, many teams went at it across different sports. They all played hard and represented Wilsonville well! Here’s this weeks recap:

The boys basketball team ended their regular season with a 21 point thumping of Parkrose. The field of 5A basketball teams was cut in half after Tuesday as only the top 16 teams make it into the playoffs. For the Cats, they received the 3rd overall seed in 5A, which means they have home court advantage for round one. However, they pulled Central who’s been very solid all year. But they held onto a lead for the majority of the game including the very end of the game as they won the opening round matchup 47-34. “We were getting shots that we wanted when we reversed the ball.” Says Junior Forward Tristan Davis. “We rushed shots but it worked out.”

The girls basketball team also had a final tuneup against Parkrose. This one was also wasn’t close. Blowout isn’t the right word. The Cats held the Broncos to 9 points the entire game and dropped 63 on the offensive end. It was as much of a one-sided game as you could get. It was a good momentum game for the Cats as they entered the playoffs. As an 8 seed, they drew a very tough Crescent Valley in their opening round. It was a neck and neck bout but the Raiders pulled away in the end 52-41, ending the Cats season short. But there was a lot to be excited about in this season of unknown for the Cats.
