Senior Night a Success For Wilsonville, Complete Regular Season Undefeated

Senior night was a great way to celebrate the Wilsonville Seniors and extend their winning streak, now Wilsonville will take a perfect 26-0 record into their first round play off game against Eagle Point.

With Rex Putnam coming to town for senior night emotions were high at Wilsonville High School on Tuesday October 25th. Senior night is a special night that celebrates all of the hard work that the seniors put in through out their high school careers, with Wilsonville they celebrated 5 seniors. That list includes Ella Hubka, Makenna Wiepert, Kaylee Dresser, Emma Alewine, and Julie Schaecher.

With Wilsonville going into the match a perfect 25-0 in the regular season an already emotional night had a different feeling to it. You could tell how bad that this Wilsonville team and their fans wanted a perfect regular season record. In the first set Putnam took control at one point leading Wilsonville 24-21 in the first set, Wilsonville battled back and took the first set by a score of 27-25.

The next couple sets were close but Wilsonville took advantage of Putnam mistakes and won set two by a score of 25-17 then set three 25-19. While all seniors got playing time it was less about watching them play and more about celebrating a great 4 year run at Wilsonville high school. Senior Kaylee Dresser reflected on the win “It was amazing fun to celebrate the last game and being undefeated, we ended the season in a really fun way”.

With that perfect record the team rolls into the playoffs with a now perfect 26-0 record holding the #1 seed in the tournament, Makenna Wiepert described the playoff feeling ” We are excited for the playoffs we have to play it one game at a time, we don’t want to look past anyone and play how we know how to play” Their first round playoff matchup is against Eagle Point on Saturday at 2:00.
