The Cats came out strong and pulled away with an early advantage, but the Kingsmen showed some fight and cut the lead to within 5, late in the first quarter. After a timeout was called by head coach Justin Duke, the Cats stormed away once again and built a commanding first half lead.

At half time, coach Justin Duke expressed to his team that they were lacking energy and they needed to pick it up. The Cats listened and came out fighting in the second half. Defensively, the Cats struggled a bit, allowing 44 points to be scored by a team that only scored 31 on the Cats the last time these two teams matched up. But the Cats firing offense was just too much for the Kingsmen as they ran away with a 76-44 victory. Cydney Gutridge scored 16 to lead the way for the Cats, while also dishing out 5 assists. Teagan McNamee added 14 points as well.

This Friday will be the real test for the Cats though, as they will be on the road against the number one team in our league, La Salle. The last time these two teams faced off, the Cats were in control all game until a late 3rd quarter push that allowed La Salle to take their first lead of the game and eventually pull away for a 59-48 victory over the Cats.

The game this Friday will be for the league championship. It will be the biggest test so far this year for the Cats as they prepare for the postseason. Be sure to make the trip to La Salle and support your Cats!
