Even though it was La Salle’s senior night, the Falcons had a shout out for our own Jessica Classen. That’s class!

The Cats came out of the gates fighting and traded baskets back and forth with the Falcons. Tonight was La Salle’s senior night and they showed appreciation for 5 seniors who are playing the final stretch of their high school career. They even showed appreciation for Wilsonville’s own, Jessica Classen. The Falcons went on a little run early in the 2nd quarter to find themselves up by 10. The Cats responded though, and closed the gap to 6 going into halftime.

At halftime, head coach of the Cats, Justin Duke said that he liked what he saw out of the Cats. The energy was great and only wanted to make a few adjustments to slow the high powered Falcon offense, led by senior guard, Taycee Wedin.

Coming out of the halftime break, the Cats found a way to become even more energized and really tested La Salle. Early in the 3rd quarter, senior guard, Taycee Wedin went down with what seemed to be a bad knee injury. The entire gym went silent as Taycee is returning from a torn ACL. She ended up being fine though and returned later in the quarter.

The Falcons had everything rolling for them tonight and would slowly pull away from the Cats, resulting in a 60-39 loss for Wilsonville. Congratulations to La Salle on yet another league championship.

The Cats fought hard all the way through though and aren’t hanging their heads after losing this big game.

We know we can play with them and we are just as good as they are. We had some good runs and so did they, but in the end they took the W.

The Cats fought hard, that’s one thing that everyone should take away from this game. Everyone knows that they have the talent to go all the way and that they will fight to win. It’s just about trying to put all the pieces together before playoffs which will determine whether they can make a deep playoff push or not.

The Cats are back in action next Tuesday against Parkrose at home. Come out and support your Cats!  If you can’t make the game, check at our live broadcast at https://www.youtube.com/WilsonvilleBroadcastNetwork
