On Thursday, April 12th 2018, our high school had the honor of hosting this year’s band
NWOC festival. NWOC is our league competition that consists of 8 high school bands including
Hillsboro, St.Helens, Wilsonville, Putnam, Milwaukie, La Salle, Parkrose and Sandy. The
competition consists of a musical performance of at least 18 minutes and no longer than 25, and
a sight-reading clinic. Wilsonville scraped by with a time of 18:18! It was an extremely close
competition and Wilsonville took 5th, however, there was only a 5 point difference between the
3rd place and the 5th. St. Helens high school took the win, Putnam took 2nd, and Milwaukie
took 3rd. We also had 6 bands qualify for state this year, and we were one of them! Even
though we didn’t bring home a trophy, we performed one of our best performances,qualified for
state, and hosted a kickin’ league festival!
