As always, we sang the Wildcat Fight song and National Anthem to start the assembly, underscored by our incredible Pep band.
Next up, co-spirit commissioners Kiera Easterly and Connor Nelson were introduced and they began conducting the day's events.
The first matter of the assembly was an inter-class competition in which Ms. Kate judged which grade had the most spirit, and she decided that the class that won was the Sophomore class!
At the commencement of the assembly, a Parade of Clubs occurred in which students could view over 25 sports, clubs, and activities they could participate in during the winter months.
This event is an essential piece of each seasonal assembly because it allows students to encounter a visual representation of all of the opportunities available at Wilsonville High School.
Here is a recap of all of the clubs that participated in the assembly:

This was the first game played. In this competition, five volunteers from each grade were chosen to participate.
As a part of the scavenger, each teammate had to grab a specific number of items from their grade's section. Examples include one gray sweatshirt, two shoelaces, and three hats.
Ultimately, at the end of the competition, the seniors and the freshman tied for winning.
In this game, one person sat on a scooter while holding both ends of a rope while another person was inside the rope pulling the person, like a reindeer.Â
The "reindeer" pulled their person on the scooter down to one end of the gym and then back to the starting spot and then exchange their spot to the next reindeer in line.
This game led to a lot of crashes and competitiveness as the competitors raced to get the first-place prize of 25 spirit points.
In the end, the winners of the game were the sophomores and the senior classes!
The last game began with a snowstorm of dodgeballs falling onto Kiera and Connor. From there, five students from each grade and several staff members were selected to play against the students.
Standout players from the students included D1 committed catchers Maddie Holly and Mark Wiepert and DII committed pitcher Justin Schramm.
From the staff, baseball coach Bryn Card and football coach Marcus Washington were lights-out competitors against the students.
Ultimately, the result was not close; the students came away with a clear victory.
The Jazz Band and Soul'd Out did a joint performance of a piece called "Sleigh Ride" that had been previously performed at their Winter Celebration concert.
Our beloved Willie the Wildcat twins were present at the Pep Assembly and did an excellent job entertaining the crowd of students. They gave high fives and took pictures to boost school spirit.
The duo also did an exceptional dance routine, and the crowd was in hysterics with their antics.
At the assembly, Co-ASB Presidents Trenton Bonfiglio and Venecia Gonzalez announced the class council that had been elected for each grade level.

After early release on December 6th of this year, five teams represented their class in the Muscle Man Volleyball tournament. There was one team for the freshman, sophomore, and senior classes and two teams produced by the junior class.
After several hard-fought matches, the senior class won the championship. Juniors 1 was the first runner-up; Sophomores got second runner-up.
The senior's victory was honored by the presentation of a large trophy from Sports Commissioner Cooper Adams to a few representatives of the team.
On November 11th, the Wilsonville Girls Soccer team won their third straight state championship title. A part of this assembly was to honor their incredible achievements.
The whole team was brought out in front of their peers, and then senior Captains Kenley Whittaker, Caroline De la Motte, and Campbell Lawler each shared some of their thoughts about the season.
Kenley Whittaker was then brought forth again to discuss what it meant to be the MVP for the State Championship match.

The whole team was brought out in front of their peers, and then senior quarterback Kallen Gutridge and junior wide receiver/safety Mark Wiepert each shared some of their thoughts about the season.
Mark Wiepert was then brought forth again to discuss what it meant to be the MVP for the State Championship match.
Next, head coach Adam Guenther was called up to talk about the team and their incredible victory. Coach Guenther used the game as an analogy to back up the idea that in life, you can never, ever give up.
Finally, senior offensive lineman Mason Seal presented the trophy to Mr. Davis, and the team unveiled the 2023 State Championship banner.
