This year, Winter Formal had a fun and creative theme: a masquerade ball! Students were encouraged to bring fun masks to wear and really embrace the theme. Typically, Winter Formal isn’t as popular as Homecoming, but this year, there was still a great turnout of almost 400 students.

Ruby Windsheimer, a senior, shared her thoughts and experience at this year’s Winter Formal. Not only did Windsheimer get to enjoy the dance, she was also part of the committee to organize this year’s Winter Formal.

Windsheimer comments: “This year, it was a little more stressful because I had to plan it. It still was fun, but there were a lot of little challenges, but I still think it turned out really pretty.”

There was a lot of thought and a great deal of effort that went into making sure the dance would be fun for all students to enjoy. There were many fun out-of-the-box details, like the 360 camera, that went into organizing the dance.

Windsheimer adds that “one of my advisors saw [the 360 camera] and made a comment on how it looks more interesting because we were originally going to get a Photo Booth.”

Sydney Kosderka, who is a senior as well, also shares her opinions on her last Winter Formal. Kosderka explains, “Overall, I thought [the dance] was okay. The decorations and set up were fun!”

For any dance, the DJ has to be one of the most important parts. Kosderka talks more about her feelings for the DJ at Winter Formal, saying that “[the DJ] played a lot of music that people weren’t familiar with, or weren’t that excited about.”

Many people had similar complaints about the DJ, also wishing that he would have taken more song requests.

Although people did have some complaints, many of the students had a fun time with their friends at this year’s Winter Formal!
