WIlsonville girls command the field in 5-1 victory over Scappoose

The Wildcats capture another victory in their very first league game of the season as they smash the Scappoose Indians 5-1.

Fall was definitely in the air on this cold, clear night at Randall Stadium.  The cats took an early lead and the score was already 2-0 within the first 10 minutes of the game.

Lindsey Antonson, a key player in the fab freshman four, once again proved her strength as a star player in tonight’s game.  The underclassmen definitively came to play tonight.

The cats played aggressively during the first half; their strong offense persisted and the Cats were up 3-0 at the half.

In the second half, the Cats kept the pressure on with multiple shots on goal, but the Indians stepped up their game with a stronger offense and defense.

Lindsay Antonson scores again halfway through the second half.  Araxi Tejeda-Martinez scored goal number 5 with about 12 minutes left on the clock.

Scappoose narrowly avoided a shut-out when Anika Havlick scored with 5 minutes left on the clock.
