Lady cats season comes to an end with bitter loss against Crescent Valley

Crescent Valley traveled all the way to Wilsonville last night to battle on Halloween evening. The spooky weather set the scene; you could feel the tension from the stands. Your Lady Cats previously battled the Raiders in their preseason when they claimed their first win of the year. The score formerly stands at 5-3 but tides turned this time around for Crescent Valley reclaiming their victory with a win of 2-1 over The Cats. With a bitter end to this soccer season the girls and their coach were speechless post play.

Right of out the gate, both teams started off strong. Surprised by Crescent Valley’s improvement, the Cats worked overtime. CV scored a goal in the first half but it was not given easily. The Wildcats pushed back after a few arbitrary calls from the refs were handed out.

Beginning of the second half generated the first and only goal of the night for the Cats. Freshman, Dalton Mermis took on the responsibility of taking a corner kick. A perfect curve to Teagan McNamee rebounded off her foot into the goal. The bench and crowd went ecstatic!

The excitement was short lived when Crescent Valley kicked a ball that reflected off our D-man giving them a breakaway. Their second goal concluded the match and secured the Cat’s defeat.

As we say goodbye to another soccer season we want to thank the team for giving the fans such entertainment! Good luck next year girls, go Cats!
