Lunch reviews with Lucie and Kali: Qdoba

Qdoba is a fast Mexican chain similar to Chipotle. There are several things about Qdoba that make it one of the last places we want to go during lunch. First, it’s a trek from the high school. Qdoba is located in the shopping center by Fred Meyers on the other side of I-5. Multiple traffic lights make it highly stressful to make it there and back in time within the thirty minutes provided. You would think that because of the distance not a lot of people would go there, but once you get inside there’s a long line from the cashier to the front entrance. If you weren’t stressed before you got there, try waiting in that line. To say Qdoba is our last choice is a bit harsh, but there are a lot of imperfections. However, even though it is not our favorite we can extract a few positives.

Qdoba gives a free drink with your meal to Wilsonville students which is a huge plus. They also have the option of a kids bowl which is a smaller size of the original burrito bowl. This is nice for when you want a little bit to eat where at Chipotle you only have the option of their larger bowl. Qdoba also has much better queso than its competitor and personally, we think their plastic lids are easier to use than Chipotle’s foil ones. This may be over-generalized but you can never go wrong with the little shredded chips that you can add into any food you order at Qdoba. A hidden gem that many may not know about is ‘Doba’s brownies, which, as the kids would say, “Low key slap”.

There are aspects of Qdoba’s food that we like, but its location and wait time makes it less desirable to go to during school lunch. So, if you’re craving ‘Doba maybe stop by after school or on the weekend. Opinions will obviously vary from person to person, so let us know what you think! We will be posting a poll on the WBN insta so make sure to vote for “Chipotle or Qdoba?”. In our next article, we will share the results as well as fellow student opinions that will help conclude Wilsonville’s age-old feud.
