Baseball vs Putnam

This week the cats had a big challenge.  They had a three game series with the number one team in the league the Rex Putnam Kingsman.  Game one the cats rolled over to their field. The game started off slow, but the cats were able to kick it off in the top of the third by putting a run up on the board.  They then put five more up the next inning. Putnam was able to ite the score at the end of the seventh and they cats had to go into extra innings. In the ninth Wilsonville scored three and held Putnam to seal the win.  

Game two was at home and senior Nolan Thebiay was starting on the mound for the cats.  Thebiay was able to throw a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts and only allowing 6 hits.  He was also lights out at the plate too going 3 for 3 on the day. The boys were able to come away with a 14-0 victory and advance to 2-0 in the series.  

With a lead in the series and a big win the cats traveled back to Putnam for game three.  What started out as a close game with the boys on top 3-0 at the bottom of the 6th changed to a healthy lead when the cats put up 6 in the top of the seventh.  With solid defence and a great outing on the mound junior Andrew Classen was able to throw a complete no hitter a lead the cats to a series sweep over the number one team in the league.
