Auditions for the fall musical

Auditions+for+the+fall+musical

The Acting Department of Wilsonville High School kicked off this school year with auditions for the annual musical. This year we have the honor of seeing “Cinderella” which originally debuted on Broadway. Before rehearsals start, a cast has to be assembled. Auditions for the musical took place September 3-6, and lasted every day from 3:00-6:30 pm. The casting started with singing auditions on September 3rd and callbacks were on the 5th. Dancing/acting auditions took place on September 4th, and callbacks for them were on the 6th. Mr. Katz (the Acting Teacher and Musical Director here at Wilsonville), and Ms. Kubitschek ( the Choir and Vocal Coach), get to hear the singing auditions and inform 4-5 lucky individuals that they may be one step closer to singing in the musical. They look for vocal ability and character embodiment to ensure that they cast the role to the best of their ability. If you plan on watching the show, don’t expect it to be like the animated movie; this musical will be filled with music and dancing while letting us relive our favorite childhood film. Personally, I can’t wait to see how the evil stepsisters get a taste of their own medicine! I think it’s safe to say that all of Wilsonville will be lining up on November 7th to see the amazing performance.
