The Wilsonville Wildcat Basketball team has a recent history of winning the state championship. For the past three years, the Wilsonville Basketball team has an undefeated record in 5A league. This year, the boy’s basketball team has replaced last year’s departing seniors with a new lineup of 2020 starting seniors and 2021 juniors. This starting lineup is used to winning and they want to protect their legacy. On December 13th, there is going to be a double-header at West Linn High School where both competitive teams play head-to-  head to see who comes out on top.

Gabe Reichle, a senior at WVHS, mentioned that the team is going to be good again this year. Last year’s team was known more for ball handling and quickness, while this year their strong suit is their height. “We have multiple tall guys on our team this year. We will be successful in rebounds and will be struggling more in ball handling. We also have a lot of pressure from being  three-time state champions. The team has a target on its back. Every team is going to be out to get us and we’re going to have to remember to work together and work hard. I’m excited for this upcoming season and getting to represent Wilsonville basketball for my final year.” The whole school is gearing up for another State Championship!
