Dakota Reber cuts the net after the playoff win over Corvallis.

After a 21-5 regular season including going undefeated in league, the Wildcats got the four seed in the official 5A bracket. On Saturday night, they played the thirteen seed the Corvallis Spartans from the Mid-Willamette league.

Despite the ‘Cats starting out slow, they ended up winning handily 66-38. At one point in the second quarter the Spartans were winning, but Wilsonville quickly switched the script in the second half.

The Corvallis Spartans posed an interesting challenge to the Wildcats because of their seven foot three center Jasper Reinalda. However, the ‘Cats limited Reinalda to only two baskets.

In the second half, the ‘Cats were much more active on defense in the second half as they turned Corvallis over many times in the second half. By himself, Dakota Reber had three steals and run outs that resulted in powerful dunks.

With this victory, the Wildcats advanced to the 5A state tournament at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis. The ‘Cats will take on West Albany in their first game of the tournament on Wednesday, March 11th at 3:15 PM.
