Gabe Reichle, a studly Wildcat Basketball alumni, plays great denfense. Sophomore Maxim Wu seems to have learned a thing or two from his former senior, by the way he was clamping down Molalla.

Gabe Reichle left Wilsonville last year to embark on his athletic and academic journey at the University of Oregon. After a prolific high school career that saw twenty points per game, countless victories and a couple championships, Reichle opted to take his talents down to Eugene to have his game manicured on the biggest stage and by none other than esteemed coach Dana Altman. As a preferred walk-on at UO, it was unclear how much time he would see on the floor as a freshman. That being said, Reichle is a hard nosed competitor and never ceases to rise to the occasion in the spotlight. Knowing this, he put in copious amounts of work on the court and in the gym, being described as having a fabulous summer and fall in team practices and workouts.

This brings us December second, a night when Oregon opened their 2020-21 campaign in Omaha, Nebraska against the Missouri Tigers. Despite the Ducks’ sheer talent and experience, Missouri initiated a blazing start taking a 42-31 lead into halftime. Coming out of the half, it can be said that Altman sought a spark to the Oregon efforts so he utilized the bench by putting in Gabe Reichle! The magnitude of this moment was captured over social media by Wilsonville folks who cheered Reichle on. While he was only in for a minute or so, recording a personal foul, it showed that his hard work has been paying off and if he keeps learning and growing as a player he will enter a significant role with the Ducks for years to come. Keep it up, Gabe! We cannot be more ecstatic for you and your early achievements.
