Wilsonville Wildcats boys’ lacrosse team fought until the final buzzer in Saturday’s match-up against Tualatin.

Tualatin led 11-1 at halftime, but after a miraculous turn-around in the Wildcats’ fourth quarter, the end score was 13-6.

Freshmen Gavin Waddell, Eli Nelson, and Kellen Rapp led Wilsonville’s offense, while junior Nolan Rapp led the team’s defensive end. Toshi Kondo performed spectacularly at the face-off, gaining control of the ball at center field for the overwhelming majority of the game.

The fourth quarter was when the Cats seemed to find their groove, especially as Tualatin self-destructed with numerous consecutive trips to the penalty box.

The boys were able to gain momentum in the final minutes and held on to it through the end of the game. All-in-all the game proved to be competitive and truly demonstrated the Wildcats’ grit.
