Last week in Wilsonville Sports, many teams went at it across different sports. They all played hard and represented Wilsonville well! Here’s this weeks recap:  

The boys soccer team dropped two very tough games against good opponents. Against Lincoln, the number 3 team in all of 6A, they only gave up one goal but that goal ended up being the deciding one. And against Westview, they got outscored 2-3. Two tough losses but the team remains ranked #4 in all of 5A according to OSAA. 

Girls soccer is on fire and shows no signs of stopping. They are undefeated with some very convincing wins such as 8-1 over Tigard and 6-0 over South Salem. They also tied against Sherwood last week at 0-0. The unanimous #1 team in all of 5A via OSAA will be in contention for a state title this year for sure. 

The volleyball team continued their winning ways by taking matches from St Helens and Scappoose, both in 3 sets, and dropping a close one to Mountainside. The number 7 ranked team in 5A faces a challenge as number 4 team, the La Salle Falcons, come to town in a game that could go a long way in deciding the champions of the NWOC. 

Varsity football won in a shootout against Scappoose 52-41. They scored 28 unanswered points on consecutive drives to start and never looked back. Scappoose made it close, but the boys pulled away. This was a matchup of the two top offensive teams in 5A. The Cats ran for 400+ yards and also passed for more than 200 yards. Despite graduating 19 seniors last year, the Cats haven’t missed much of a beat, attributing to their 4-0 start and number 2 ranking in the state via SB Live OR.
