There are a lot of new teachers joining Wilsonville High School this year. All of them are so excited to start working with, and getting to know all the students and staff. So, as they get to know the students, here is a little bit about them.
Mr. Rowell
Mr. Rowell teaches Modern US and World History. Before coming to Wilsonville High School, he worked at a non-profit organization in portland. He then went on to get his Master of Arts in Teaching at Concordia University but got his bachelor of arts in history at Portland State. Ms. Adams
Ms. Adams is the Biology, Anatomy, and physiology teacher at Wilsonville High School. She attended college at George Fox University and has been working with high school students for 20 years. Before coming to Wilsonville, she was the Athletic Trainer at Jesuit High School. In her free time, she enjoys reading, fostering cats, and before Covid, she loves to travel. Ms. Beko
Ms. Beko currently teaches P.E. at Wilsonville High School. Before coming to Wilsonville she was a farmer and then worked at ArtTech. In her free time, she enjoys biking, cooking, working out, biking, and going to the farmers market. She attended U of O for college and then attended Concordia for a graduate school. She is so excited to meet new people and see new faces.
Ms. Litts
Ms. Litts is the AP Human Geography, AP US government, Politics, and Leadership II teacher at Wilsonville High School. Before coming to Wilsonville High School she taught at Silverton High School. Ms. Litts graduated from Linfield University and had been working in education for 10 years. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her loved ones. Ms. Abrams
Ms. Abrams teaches English 11 and 12. Prior to coming to Wilsonville, she taught at ArtTech high school for three years. She has been teaching for 16 years, and teaching highschool for 3 of those years. She is very excited to meet and work with new people. She attended Barnard College in New York, and has a masters in journalism. She enjoys hiking and camping with her family, and she loves cooking. ...
Ms. Robinette
Ms. Robinette has been teaching for five years, and was previously working at Sherwood Middle School. She is teaching AP human geography and modern US history. She attended a college in Scotland called University of Sterling, then for her masters attended George Fox University. Ms. Heaton
Ms. Heaton teaches 9th and 10th grade English. She went to the University of Puget Sound, California State East, and Sonoma State University. She lived in California and taught at a high school there, before moving to Oregon. She then taught at Athey Creek Middle School, then joined the staff at Wilsonville High School. Ms. O’Neill
This is Ms. O’Neill’s first year teaching; she is the language specialist. This means that she helps implement strategies to help students speaking and literacy skills. In her free time, she loves to watch movies with friends and family, and she adores playing sports. Ms. O’Neill went to Queens University of Charlotte, and for her graduate degree attended Lewis and Clark. ...
Ms. Markstaller
Ms. Markstaller is a learning specialist, and co-teaches world history, and marine biology. She also teaches a class called Success Studio. Before coming to Wilsonville High School, she was a long-term substitute at West Linn High School. In college, she did a lot of research under a forensic psychologist for family litigation. Mr. Eckstein
Mr. Eckstein is a digital animation, AP computer science, and robotics teacher. This is his first year teaching, he has worked alongside many teachers, but is looking forward to teaching on his own this year. Before teaching Mr. Eckstein was training to become a pilot. Mr. VanAcker
Mr. VanAcker teaches US history and global issues. This is his first year teaching ever. He attended college at U of O and Concordia Pacific University. He took a different path to teaching and originally wanted to be a professional musician. Mr. VanAcker is excited to be an educator and work through new challenges with his career.
Mr. Simmons
Mr. Simmons teaches advanced algebra and geometry. He got his undergraduate degree at Gonzaga University, and attended graduate school at the University of Portland. Mr. Lee is a biology and marine biology teacher at Wilsonville highschool. He has been teaching for 17 years, and has been teaching at ArtTech for the last 7 years.
