Trap team returns for the 2021-2022 season

The Wilsonville trap team has started their new season! Trap is a sport where players use shotguns to shoot down frisbee like clay targets sprung into the air by a trap.

Sophomore Cole Miller decided to join the trap team because it sounded like a fun experience and a good way to represent the school in a sport that’s not very known. Sophomore Trenton Bonfiglio enjoys trap because of its competitiveness and being able to hang out with friends.

The Wildcat trap team had their first meet on September 30th. Miller said that “the team did well even though the fog was hard to see through.”

The trap team practices at Canby Rod and Gun Club with their meets every Thursday at 7:00pm, also held there. Surprisingly, “It’s a pretty easy sport to pick up on” stated Miller.

The Wildcats have a meet on October 7th at 7:00 pm at Canby Rod and Gun Club. Good luck Wildcats!

If you enjoy shotguns, hanging out with friends, and being competitive, trap team is definitely a good fit for you!”
