Facing the consequences
what effects has online school had on our education?
Now that school is mask free and back in full swing, the big question is, do we miss school being online? There were many advantages of being online, but there were also many disadvantages too.
As a teacher, Mr. Mitchell goes on to state his thoughts about school being online. He said that “it seemed kinda cool at first, but then it seemed like it didn’t work very well.” He explained that, especially in math, students tended to lose focus easily. They stopped paying attention and used apps like Photomath to do their work for them.
Makenzie Small, a sophomore at Wilsonville High School, had similar thoughts on the topic. She complained that “in the long run it messed up my future classes.” Makenzie went on to say that, although there are some advantages like learning from a familiar environment and being able to look up the answers, it doesn’t always help you.
Many students are facing the backlash of online classes by struggling in their classes now. Although they easily passed online, learning in the classroom is a different story. They are forgetting things they have learned, or never fully learned it at all.
Most people can say that they do not miss being online for school.
