Junior Sai Nithya Kalavai has a bit more ambitious of a career goal than most high school students, she is in this year’s ISEF, her project “monitoring blood cells for people in the NICU. [Neonatal Intensive Care Unit].” Kalavai is further dedicated, volunteering at OHSU “help[ing] patients and walk[ing] people around.” Kalavai’s career ambition is to become a cardiologist, though she would be “really scared, that’s the difference between life and death.” However, she says “It’s saving someone’s life and it’s very important.”, also mentioning “uniforms” as a bonus of the job. Kalavai’s hobbies include singing and playing tennis, she’s a member of the Varsity Singles team, and enjoys playing with her older brother in the summer.
