“I want to work hard in school and sports because it’s important to make the most of my opportunities. I never want to look back and think I could’ve done more. I just want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to set myself up for the future while also making the most of my high school experience. For me, that means challenging myself with interesting classes and playing sports I love.
Soccer motivates me because I love the game and my team. We all work hard together, and being state champions doesn’t come easy. My parents always tell me that if I work hard, it will pay off, and that really motivates me. I know that hard work will be rewarding in the future.
Balancing everything can definitely be challenging. I’m not always the most on top of my schoolwork. I’ll admit I wait until the last minute, but I make sure everything gets done. I try to make time for everything, like hanging out with friends after finishing an assignment or studying together at Starbucks. With sports, I show up and give 100%, then when I get home, I rest and do things I enjoy. On weekends, I catch up on cleaning and fun stuff I didn’t have time for during the week.
Aside from soccer and basketball, I’m one of ASB’s publicity and communications managers with Maisy Scanlan, which is super fun. I love boating, wakeboarding, skiing, crafting, shopping, and all things Christmas. I love to adventure and explore new places, and Hawaii is my favorite. My goals are to win state for soccer, travel more, maybe own a business like my mom, and, honestly, someday have a pet monkey because they’re so cute.”
