“Coaching is something I’ve always envisioned myself doing since I was 12 years old. I was eager for a new challenge, my experience has been with all-star teams but stepping into a high school coaching environment offers something different which is an exciting opportunity to grow and make an impact.
Being a coach has definitely shaped me as a person in so many ways it taught me to be more patient, understanding, and being a better communicator. When you coach you start to realize everyone learns differently and part of your job is figuring how to teach each individual in a way that works for them.
It’s about growth and seeing someone gain confidence through challenges and work better as a team and with their team, that’s the real reward. Honestly it’s one of those worlds you go into thinking you’re just there to teach but you end up learning just as much as everyone else if not more.
I want to be remembered as a coach who inspired confidence, built character, and created a supportive environment where every athlete felt valued. My goal has always been to go beyond the routine, and competitions and try to mostly focus on teamwork, discipline, and personal growth.
My proudest moment as a coach, well I have two of them, one from last season when we were at state and we were all in the cafeteria and everyone found out we placed 9th of 25 teams. I watched every girl realize they were capable of more than they thought they were and it was just an amazing experience. To be a part of a very emotional moment.
Also this year one of my proudest moments was watching the team grow closer building strong bonds and building a truly united team and watching that from start to now mid season and I’m just excited to see where we are at the end, and those are my proudest moments so far.”
