“Sports have taught me to deal with both failure and success. As well as work with teammates to accomplish a shared goal. My older brother has influenced me the most both in life and sports. He has taught me the importance of hard work and that almost every challenge in both life and sports is way more in your head than it is in reality.
Balancing sports and schoolwork has been a challenge that I’ve faced, but I’ve learned to use my time more wisely and have found a schedule that works best for me to keep me on top of my schoolwork and not stressed going into practices and games.
I get through hard times in sports and life by reminding myself I’ve faced similar struggles before and I’ve gotten through them. I also have supportive people in my life. Whether I’m going through a hitting slump or facing personal issues, I always have family members, friends, and teammates who are there for me.
My favorite softball memory is my club team’s tournament in Colorado, which was one of the last tournaments with the kids I grew up playing with. This impacted me because it marked the end of a stage in my life, which made me reflect and remember to cherish every moment with the people important to me.”
