“I am a junior at Wilsonville High School right now. I play baseball and football for the school, and have fun with that. I enjoy photography and hanging out with friends. I enjoyed going to like hole-in-the-wall places for food over the summer. On regular school days, I go to school and then I’ll go to football practice, and then I’ll come home at like 8:30.
For me, faith is so important in everything I do, especially sports. You can have your ups and downs in sports, but when you’re centered in Jesus and that’s who your rock is, there are no bad games or riding on the lows. What’s important is my identity in Christ, not in the things I do and the satisfaction it gives others. At the end of the day, I know that the Lord has a plan for my life.
A lot of my time is spent doing sports and figuring out what that looks like as far as what I want to do in college, and if that’s baseball or football, or if I even want to play sports in college. I’m leaning towards college sports, but if I don’t do college sports, I’m fine with that. For now, I’m thinking that if I go to college, my degree will be business, and if I decide to change it, I’ll change it.
For me, family time is mainly just at home at night, we’ll watch a show or just sit and talk. When my two older siblings are back from college, which is usually during Christmas or Thanksgiving break, or sometimes during the summer, we all hang out or just try to have quality time together, which my family does a really good job of.
I’m grateful for things that my parents have taught me growing up, like being smart in a way of having fun, while being cautious in high school, and how mature you are in high school is going to help you later on in life.
I believe that if people know you as a person that’s accountable in high school, that can really help you later on in life.”
