Staging in late May, the Wilsonville High School Theatre production is bringing to life a brand new play, Anne Of Green Gables. The cast is hard at work, diligently preparing and rehearsing every day after school in the PAC.
According to director Jason Katz in his press release, “Anne Of Green Gables, a play based on the beloved novels by L. M. Montgomery is sure to lift the spirits of fans old and new. This dramatization captures the charm and excitement of L.M. Montgomery’s enduring classic about an orphaned girl, Anne Shirley, from her first encounter with the Cuthberts, who thought they were getting a boy, to her thrilling graduation from Queen’s Academy. The play faithfully recreates the memorable events and characters from the brilliant novel.”
The student actors at WVHS are doing a fantastic job at thoroughly capturing the role of their characters, ensuring that they perform cohesively and superbly. Every member of the cast is excited and ready to fully undertake their part to make this play the best it can be. Highlighting the many students from different grade levels and backgrounds, this performance is sure to be a blast.
According to Katz “Wilsonville High School’s show features junior Taylor Nichols as Anne, sophomore Kelsi Shivers as Marilla Cuthbert, junior Abraham Peykanu as Matthew Cuthbert, senior Brooke Campbell as Rachel Lynde, and sophomore Sophia Petshow as Diana Barry. Mrs. Barry is played by senior Sophia Culp and Minnie Mae Barry is played by freshman Joyce Juarez Pedraza.”
