Within the school, there are countless people who support students throughout their high school careers. One important group is the janitorial staff, who work behind the scenes to ensure that students and teachers can learn in a clean and safe environment every day. Tyson Wahl is one member of this staff who has quietly helped keep the school running for many years.
Wahl ran track at WLHS during his Junior and Senior years, where he ran the 200-meter dash. It was also at WLHS where he fell in love with weight lifting, and it is still his passion today. He graduated from West Linn High School in 1995 and later came to work at Wilsonville High School in 2007. One of Wahl’s close friends, Jeff Chambers says, “he has shown up every day ready to work, enthusiastic, and always has a smile on his face. We are so fortunate to have Tyson as a member of the WHS Staff.”
People who work in schools often build strong connections to the community, and Wahl’s story reflects that connection, “You guys make it fun for me to be here, clean up, and do the job that I do.” When it comes to Tyson Wahl as a person he is a hard working, consistent, friendly, and dedicated member of the Janitorial Staff member. He is an employee who encourages and motivates all the people who work with him.
Tyson Wahl is deeply passionate about the people and activities that matter most to him. He is a devoted supporter of local sports, and many consider him the Wilsonville Wildcats’ biggest fan. He rarely misses an opportunity to cheer on the Wildcats, the Oregon Ducks, or the Chicago Bears. Beyond sports, Wahl’s faith and involvement in his church play an important role in his life, as does participating in his summer softball league. Family is equally important to him, and he shares a close bond with his mother, two siblings, and his nephew, who lives in Seattle and plays baseball. Wahl often spends his vacations visiting his nephew and supporting him from the stands.
Staff members like Tyson Wahl remind students that every role within a school community matters. Whether teaching in classrooms, working in the office, or maintaining the campus, each person contributes to making the school a better place for students and staff alike.
