On February 24th, The 91st Academy Award show known as The Oscars took place at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The Oscars is a award show for the film industry and many celebrities from all over attend the ceremony. One of the best things about The Oscars is the anticipation for everyone’s out of this world ensembles. The Oscars is an event where celebrities take risks with fashion trends and try to be the most talked about whether it is for a good reason or a bad reason. The red carpet is where everyone sees the hits and misses of the 2019 Academy Awards.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez were recognized as the best dressed couple. Lopez was wearing a cracked mirror silver dress and Rodriguez matched her in a white suit jacket and black pants. Both were designed by Tom Ford. The most talked about celebrity was Glenn Close. She wore a whopping 42 lb gown with 4 million gold beads. Close wore a design by Wes Gordon and Cartier jewelry. Lady Gaga looked amazing in Alexander McQueen and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Her 128 carat yellow diamond necklace that was stunning and complimented her simple, but elegant black dress. Emma Stone wore a waffley looking copper dress with structured shoulders attached. It was designed by Louis Vuitton. The worst dressed was Rachel Weisz in Givenchy Couture and Cartier jewelry. Her ensemble was a two piece rubber cape floor length dress. Another fashion miss was Kacey Musgraves. She wore a Giambattista Valli Couture that looked like a pink loofah or toilet cleaner. The first ever tuxedo dress debuted on the red carpet that night as well. Billy Porter wore a avant-garde black tuxedo dress designed by Christian Siriano, a alumni of Project Runway. His ensemble sparked a social media mania over different opinions on his outfit for The Academy Awards,
There were so many amazing designs on the red carpet this year other than these ones. The Oscars is where people want to be talked about.
