Caraval

For Scarlett Dragna, escape from her abusive father and the famous annual performance, caraval, is all she thinks about. Caraval is a five day competition in which guests can either participate in a magical scavenger hunt by following a series of clues or simply enjoy the magic and festivities of Caraval. For most of her life, Scarlett wrote letters to the game master, Legend, begging for tickets and one year Scarlett and her sister Donatella receive tickets. They ran away from home to attend Caraval but the games were far more dangerous and thrilling than they could ever imagine

This is one of my favorite YA fantasy trilogies. The world building is enchanting and the mysteries are super fun to uncover. Additionally, the characters are well built and the romance plot line was adorable. Anyone who enjoyed The Night Circus and The Crowns Game is sure to enjoy this magical adventure as well.
