This years class of seniors may be small, but is certainly mighty

Wilsonville and La Salle entered the month of April at the top of the table in Northwest Oregon Conference, Wilsonville being 8-0 and La Salle being 6-2 respectively.

In one of the more highly anticipated matchups of the season, these two teams were as physical as ever, mounting challenges on the defensive end and accruing fouls leading to free kicks. The game started very slowly with no score for 30 minutes. Late in the first half, the Wildcats broke loose where Lindsey Antonson scored off of a 50-foot strike, weaving through traffic on the way. In the first half, both clubs ripped shots off of the opposing crossbar…

The second half began with more of the same physicality, the teams trading shoulder and hip checks. In this half, the score stayed 1-0 until Brianna Crane (freshman) nudged a goal across after receiving a pass from Lindsey Antonson and Kenly Whittaker. This, taking place with around 15 minutes left, brought the score to 2-0 where it stayed for the duration of the contest.

The Wildcats used the energy provided by Senior Night to knock off the Falcons emphatically and sweep the season series of two games. They will play next on Tuesday when they will face the Sunset Apollos.
