With a ruckus environment filling Wilsonville high school to the brim you could tell it was time for playoff basketball.

Wilsonville the #3 seed heading into the state tournament took on the #14 seed Central Panthers. Wilsonville was the obvious favorites coming into the game with a 23-2 overall record and a 13-1 inner division record. Central came into the matchup 10-11 overall and 9-7 in league play.

Kallen Gutridge came out of the gates on fire hitting jumpers working his way inside and capping his 9-0 run with a three pointer a couple minutes before the end of the first quarter. Gutridge started the Wilsonville offense that did just enough throughout the night to keep Wilsonville a good distance ahead of Central.

Wilsonville ended the first quarter with a 13-5 lead. The rest of the game was a low scoring defensive battle where Wilsonville came out on top 47-34.  Nick Colyer was excited to move on to the second round “Feeling good very excited to play at gill with the team.”

Wilsonville goes into their second round matchup vs Crater (The #6 seed) on a 13 game win streak. The second round matchup will take place on Wednesday at Gill Coliseum at 6:30
