Siena’s third and final installment

For my third and final cafe installment, I thought I would take off onto some places that aren’t in town, but are still being mentioned.

Ava Roasteria, Lake Oswego – Ava’s is a great place for getting work done. Anytime I’ve ever gone, this time included, there are clearly other students hard at work, studying for tests and staying busy. This atmosphere is really helpful for students that struggle with keeping themselves on task. It’s surprisingly motivating knowing others are doing the same thing you are. And staying open until 11pm, you can spend plenty of time getting work done here, uninterrupted. The barista suggested I get the caramel latte (for here), it was delicious and sweet while keeping me motivated during my studying.

Dutch Brothers, Tualatin – And of course, the report could not be complete without mentioning dutch bros. –  a known favorite amongst students. The stand even has quite a few wildcats working so it’s likely you’ll run into someone you know when you show up. As Dutch is a drive however, it is not ideal for the student that wants to get out of the house. I was recommended an iced kicker, they’re really creamy and taste great, but if you need an emergency dose of caffeine I might suggest the 911. The drink has six shots of espresso and will definitely keep you running if you need it.

Happy Sparrow Cafe, Lake Oswego – Having never gone to Happy Sparrow before I was not too sure what to expect. There were plenty of places to sit down and pull out some homework, and even a large table with extra outlets for groups. When the weather will one day permit, there was also lots of outdoor seating. The place even had books and toys for kids if you’re stuck watching the little brother one day. The barista said she keeps it basic with a vanilla latte so I did the same, I got mine with hemp milk and it was great! I would deem it worthy of the trip out to LO. The place is also known for these pastries they have called Kolaches. While I did not try one myself I was thoroughly interested in checking out all the different kinds they had while I waited for my drink.
