Many students enjoy the wonder of the holidays! For some, the holiday is incomplete without watching favorite festive films.

With 13 days until Christmas, the holiday season is in full swing; decorations are up, school is coming to an end for the year, and Christmas music is playing everywhere. But what is a holiday season without Christmas movies? Today I am going to share with you my list of must see holiday films! *Disclaimer* This is not my full list. My actual list contains many Hallmark Christmas movies which I did not include for obvious reasons (High schoolers are brutal when it comes to Hallmark.) Anyway, let’s get to it.

First on the list is The Santa Clause franchise with Tim Allen. The three holiday movies are must-sees. Not only are they funny and family friendly, but they are also the perfect movies to put you in a festive mood. The first movie follows the story of a businessman who unexpectedly becomes the next Santa Clause.

Second is the very popular and some say overrated film, Elf. Elf is a fan favorite, hilarious movie. Will Ferrell does a fabulous job playing the human elf who travels from the North Pole to meet his father in New York City. This movie contains everything you could want in a Christmas movie; comedic moments, romance, and a heartfelt ending.

Miracle on 34th Street is a great Thanksgiving to Christmas transition movie. The film’s timeline starts on Thanksgiving day and ends on Christmas day. I’ve only seen the 1994, color version of the film, but there is an older black and white version as well. Regardless of which one you watch, Miracle on 34th Street is a sweet story about believing in Santa and Christmas magic.

The fourth movie on my list is one of my favorite movies of all time. While You Were Sleeping stars Sandra Bullock as Lucy who is mistaken as the fiance of Peter Callaghan, a man in a coma who’s never met her before. Throughout the film Lucy tries to untangle herself from the misunderstanding but in the process falls in love with Peter’s family, and an unlikely person. This is a classic film that anyone can watch and enjoy.

Christmas with the Kranks. Christmas with the Kranks. Christmas with the Kranks. Everyone needs to see this movie. This movie also stars Tim Allen, along with Jamie Lee Curtis. The actors play Luther and Nora Krank who decide, since their only daughter will be away for Christmas, to skip the holiday and go on a tropical cruise. Spoiler, they don’t make it, but I won’t tell you why.

Next is White Christmas. And when I tell you it’s a classic, I truly mean it’s a classic. White Christmas is a film from 1954 starring Bing Crosby. However, the film is timeless. The music, the costumes, the plot line-everything about the movie is wonderful. And don’t worry, the film is in color!

Last, but not least is The Grinch. I know I don’t need to explain this plot line, so I won’t but I will tell you that the 2018 version of The Grinch is the best. The movie has cute animated characters, funny scenes for everyone and a really sweet ending. So just watch it.

Now I won’t take up any more of your time, because you’ll need it to watch these movies. Oh and if you are someone who does happen to like Hallmark movies, come find me, I have plenty to recommend.
