The robotics team poses with a first place finish at their Auburn Mountainside competition. Each member works diligently to ensure the robots run smoothly!

Wilsonville students flocked to club rush on September 12. Many students crowded in the main hallway, vying to join various clubs and extracurricular activities. However, there was one club above all others that caught many people’s attention: robotics.

For those, who aren’t familiar with this incredible club, robotics is a club for those who are interested in the STEM field. These people work together to build robots which complete certain tasks such as throwing a ball into a basket or hitting a target.

Currently, the team is preparing for an off-season competition called Bunny Bots as well as the Capital City Classic. Each person on the robotics team dedicates many hours to help design, program, and build these amazing robots.

Mia Kassab (senior), who is a part of the mechanical and marketing team, states that her favorite part about robotics is, “the team’s atmosphere. I love being able to cheer on my teammates at competition and being able to grow closer to several people on the team.” She is also looking forward to the competition season and cheering on her fellow teammates.

If you are interested in joining the robotics team, feel free to attend one of their meetings on Tuesday or Thursday from 6:30-9:00!
