Don’t let the skirt fool you!
Wilsonville Girls Lacrosse dominated against Mountainside on Thursday (5/20/21). The game started off a bit rocky leaving the score 3-5 at halftime. But have no fear, it was senior night and our seniors really showed up.
Ellie Grano (Senior) scored 4 goals and had 1 caused turnover. Maura Schram (Senior) ate up the defense and caused turnovers left and right, one was when defending the goalie herself. Our precious goalie Loren Fornof (Senior) saved 7/11 goals. They really showed Mountainside what Wilsonville Lacrosse is.
The seniors really stepped up, but so did the younger classes. Avery Lanz (Junior) went off, scoring 3 goals and securing 10 ground balls, as well as 2 caused turnovers and 11 draw controls. Fiona Dunn (Sophomore) scored 2 goals, caused 2 turnovers, and won 1 draw control.
The girls team played for their seniors with their hearts on their sleeves even with the interesting calls from the referees. The game ended 11-4, with a bittersweet feel as this is the 2nd to last high school game our Seniors will ever play in.
