Cheer team moving into competition season

Cheerleading is a year round sport. The season starts with a camp in the summer and quickly moves to practice in the fall. The team has two practices a week; Monday and Wednesday, for two hours focusing on learning the cheers in the fall and competition routines the rest of the year.

The team has 24 members, 5 are seniors.  When asked how they are feeling at the end of the fall season, senior Holly Huberd shared, “It’s hard to believe the seniors last football season is almost over, everything is going by so fast. It has only been a couple of months, but we have already created so many fun memories.”

Senior Addy Terry is sad that her senior football season is ending, but is thankful for the memories she helped create. Addy reflected on the year so far and said “We are now getting ready for competition season and I’m really excited because I get to spend my favorite part of high school with some of my best friends before I leave for college.”

Holly said that the competition season is her favorite part of the season.  She competed in the individual All State Competition, placing 7th. Holly definitely felt her nerves, but had a fun day.

She concluded by saying ,“I love cheering with my team, and will miss it so much when the year ends.”
