Sports Recap Week of 1/10
Last week in Wilsonville Sports, many teams went at it across different sports. They all played hard and represented Wilsonville well! Here’s this weeks recap:
The boys basketball team only had one game against Milwaukie, in which they dominated 71-48. This game had all the elements of being a trap game for the Cats. Coming off a break, playing on the road, and playing a gritty team all are the factors that go into a trap game. The Mustangs of Milwaukie fought hard but were no match for the Cats scoring. The Cats scored their most points en route to a 23 point victory.
The girls basketball team had two league games, both coming in dominant winning fashion. They took down Milwaukie on Monday 49-33. Milwaukie is a sneaky good team so it was a good win for the Cats. Then on Thursday, they had Scappoose’s number defeating them 48-19. Known more for offense, it was a very good showing by the Cats’ defense, holding them to 19 points the entire game.
The Wrestling team participated in the Wilsonville Invite against Centennial and Cleveland. In their first duel, they took down Centennial by a score of 38-33. Centennial is a solid program, so it was a good win to get their feet back under them. They then had to face off against a tougher opponent, Cleveland. The Cats did all they could to neutralize the Warriors but they ended up losing the duel 47-27.
