Four members of the OHSET team pose for a photo at state. The team is excited for their next season!

A few of our own athletes on the Wilsonville High School Equestrian team also known as OHSET, recently participated in the state-wide event! Congratulations to our competing athletes Serena Remley, Grace Nelson, Meagan Harris, Kaitlyn Widner, and Paris Chamberlain.

OHSET is also known as the Oregon High School Equestrian Team.   Equestrians can compete in many events including gaming, performance, and team events.  The OHSET team competes against other schools to rule out the best of the best who make it to Redmond and compete against the entire state.

Through OHSET you don’t only compete, but you make lifelong friends and connections along the way.

State is one of the biggest competitions in OHSET where the top 3 athletes in each discipline from each district in the state compete. The top 5 athletes in each discipline at state go to regionals to compete against the top 5 athletes in Washington.

State is not just about competing, but also about bonding. You enjoy team dinners, and bonfires.

At state you can rent a golf cart for your team and than decorate it with anything you like. You race around the arena with everyone at once in your golf cart after all the classes have ended. This is filled with laughter and pure joy.

Not only is the Wilsonville Equestrian team highly competitive, but they feel more like a family than a team.

The girls have Christmas parties as well as drive to get food together and have lots of laughs along the way.

Every girl on the team has a much different background and all of the athletes say OHSET is not just a team but a family to them.

It is a beautiful thing to watch young athletes come together to form more than a team, but a sisterhood.
