Kenley Whittaker takes a shot on goal against Woodburn. This was one of her two goals.

After a very successful 2021 season, the Wilsonville girls soccer team is ready to take on 2022. Although about half of the team last year was filled with very dominant seniors, they are ready to rebuild and create a strong, dynamic team.

Wilsonville started off the 2022 season in Bend at Caldera High School with a loss, but quickly came back with a very strong 4-0 win against Crater. Following the win, Wilsonville traveled to a tough game at Lake Oswego and came back with a 1-6 defeat. The girls kept their heads up and came out ready to compete against Woodburn, previous 4A state champions.

Wilsonville started the game off strong, dominating in their 4-3-3 formation. Halfway through the first half, Kenley Whittaker landed a ball in the back of the net, with an assist from Caroline de la Motte. Having gained an early lead, the girls continued to keep their intensity high while keeping possession for the rest of the first half.

At the start of the second half, the Cats came onto the field strong, and quickly got a goal off from Ashlyn Ring. Following, Natalie Kendig and Kenley Whittaker both added two more goals to the board. Once the final whistle blew, the cats walked off with a 4-0 victory over Woodburn.
