Volleyball has been off to a great start! Pre-season has started and everyone is very excited to see their outcome this season. Makenna Wiepert, a senior and outside hitter, is very excited for this season. “It feels surreal, it feels good to lead my team and play one last season of High School volleyball,” Weipert says. She is looking forward to being the big dog on the court, picking up a new position and getting ready for her college years playing D1 at UTSA. Weipert is looking forward to working with the new and adjusting from seniors leaving last year!

A fellow teammate of Weipert, Olivia Clark, a freshman and defensive specialist, swings from JV to Varsity. “It’s such a crazy experience to play with older kids.” Clark states. Olivia loves playing with JV, but Varsity feels like another level of competition and family to her. Olivia and Makenna both said the student section has been another level of hype. “I’m really excited to see our student section show out when we play harder teams!,” said Weipert. Everyone at WHS is very excited to see the outcome of the volleyball team this year!
