Girls Soccer falls to Lincoln
On Monday, September 19th, Wilsonville faced 6A Lincoln at home. Despite a good start, the Wildcats ultimately fell 5-1 to the Cardinals.
“The game was a hard match up. It felt like we were playing scared and not like our best selves.” said junior Grace Wilson. “We need to set goals for us personally and for the team to help get a more competitive environment,” said Wilson. Wilsonville is currently 2-4 with wins against Crater 4-0 and Woodburn 4-0 as well. Wilsonville has a strong offense and defense with many strong players. “We are getting better at playing as a unit and making better game plans. The whole team is working really hard to improve on the field.” added Wilson.
“We definitely had our ups and downs throughout the season, this game just wasn’t our best but that’s okay. We are still learning and improving so much.” said junior Caroline Delamotte. Wilsonville will begin league play next week facing some good competitors like NWOC rival La Salle. “We are looking to go all in with work rate and energy. I am really hopeful to see how the rest of the season will unfold with our big games coming up.” added Delamotte.
Wilsonville will face off against Parkrose at Parkrose High School on Monday the 26th and Putnam at home on Wednesday the 28th.
