Wilsonville Volleyball celebrates Senior Night
Tonight, Wilsonville volleyball will face off against the Putnam Kingsmen as well as celebrate Makenna Wiepert, Ella Hubka, Kaylee Dresser, Emma Alewine, and Julie Schaecher, the five person senior squad for the class of 2023.
Senior night is always an emotional night for all parties involved. The seniors, the parents of the seniors, the coaches, and the rest of the team all feel the sadness yet happiness when celebrating their sadness. Everybody comes together to support the girls and their futures after high school.
Wilsonville has been unstoppable in league and overall thus far in their season. Wilsonville carries an amazing 25-0 record overall and a 15-0 record in league. Wilsonville is looking to keep this trajectory going throughout playoffs hopefully ending with a State Championship ring on their finger.
“I think our team is going to bring our signature Wildcat fight and showcase our versatility.” said junior Kate Gore. “I think it’s definitely going to be a good game. Putnam just beat Canby and Canby took us to four sets, so it’ll for sure be an entertaining one.” added one of the seniors Ella Hubka.
In a five set nail biter Wilsonville defeated their league rival, The La Salle Falcons who are currently ranked 7th in 5A via OSAA. The Wildcats want to keep the streak going and defeat another league foe, the Kingsmen. Putnam is ranked 13th in 5A via OSAA meaning it should be a good match up as Putnam is coming off of a big win against Canby. Wilsonville looks to continue playing the game they have been and remain undefeated.
Congratulations to the Wilsonville Volleyball team on an amazing season thus far and congratulations to the five seniors on their amazing high school careers.
The Wildcats play Putnam at home tonight for their final league home game. Senior festivities start at 6:45 PM!
